Why are we moving?

Our community is vibrant and growing right now, so we need more space! We’ve grown too big for our current spaces, and that main room gets HOT in the summer. We want to make sure everyone has space to move and stays cool while dancing.

How did you come to this decision?

Our 10-member “Advisory Board” has been discussing our space needs for over eight months. Attendance climbed dramatically at the beginning of last summer and we began adding rooms and waiting to see if numbers would remain high. We have been split on whether to move or stay for a while, but the latest vote to move was unanimous.

What will it be like downstairs?

Both the ballroom and lounge across the hall are significantly larger than our main room and line dance room upstairs. The ballroom has air conditioning, though the lounge does not. (But the lounge does have three sets of doors that open into the hallway.)

It’s gonna feel different – but change is good! We’ll still do everything we can to ensure that the event feels warm and welcoming.

Also as a bonus, there will be more parking available since we will not be sharing the building with another dance event on the same night!

Why fourth Saturdays?

Fourth Saturdays is all that is available to rent right now with the current tenant mix. We know this timing does conflict with some holidays, but we’ll keep you posted about scheduling changes during those months.

But I love our current space and second Saturdays.

So do we. Many of the voting members have danced in “Hall 1” on second Saturdays at Texas Rose for years. We are very fond of our home. 

We also know that wherever we are, upstairs, downstairs, we’ll always be the same community. It’s the people who make the dance, not the room. 💜
